Travel and Directions to the PSTC
Air: We recommend flying into the Providence airport (T.F. Green), which is served by most major carriers. The Providence airport is located about 15-20 minutes from Brown. Taxi and airport shuttle companies regularly take passengers from the airport to campus; cab fares are about $30.
By Train/Bus: The train terminal is located in Providence's downtown district on Gaspee Street. Providence Station is a stop between Washington D.C and Boston on Amtrak. From the station, you can walk to campus (in about 15-20 minutes) or take a cab for about $5. The Bonanza bus terminal provides service to and from Boston and New York (add website). It is located several miles north of campus and provides a free shuttle to Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence. From there, you can either walk "up the hill" (about 10 to 15 minutes), or take a bus or cab to campus.
By Car: From I-95 North or South, follow signs to Route 195 East (Exit 20) . Once on the ramp for 195 East, move over all the way to the right as soon as possible. Take exit 1, Downtown Providence. Follow the exit ramp to the first light. Turn right onto Dyer Street. At the third light turn right onto College Street. At the next light, go straight up the hill. Continue straight at the stop sign halfway up the hill. At the top of the hill, where College Street intersects with Prospect Street, you will see Brown’s Van Wickle Gates. Turn left onto Prospect St. At the light, turn right onto Waterman Street. Mencoff Hall will be on the left. It is a gray stucco Greek Revival building with the words Historical Society carved above the door.

Parking Information: Please note that parking in the vicinity of Mencoff Hall can be challenging. (Those who are staying on campus or in nearby lodging may prefer to take a taxi to campus.) There are metered two-hour parking spots available on Waterman and Prospect Street, as well as limited nearby unmetered spots of 2-3 hours duration.
